It’s done: New York Fashion Week is officially over and I went to just 3 shows this time as I got super lazy – but, I’ve been watching it from aside all the time.Zimmermann RS18 0392
Traditionally, after the week is over, I share with you guys my favorite looks and little comments – sometimes witty, sometimes cute, sometimes just angry (lol).
Unfortunately, most designers are not nearly done with past years so there were lots of colors, silly prints, baggy and asymmetric clothes and just basically I’m so done with those. Can we just accept the fact we’re leaving in an era when it’s so hard to come up with something new – and just stop pulling ideas from the past and try to be just effortlessly classy, and simple, and don’t pretend we’re leaving in the 80’s or 90’s.
Maybe it’s time to accept that past is past – and, you know, move on?Idan Cohen PO HC RF17 0005Idan Cohen PO HC RF17 0011IDAN COHENMARCHESA NOTTE/RESORTShoji RS18 1355Shoji RS18 1368TADASHI SHOJIKors RS18 0030Kors RS18 0107Kors RS18 0218MICHAEL KORS COLLECTIONJosie Natori PO RS18 0006Josie Natori PO RS18 0015JOSIE NATORINaeem Khan RS18 0866Naeem Khan RS18 0904Naeem Khan RS18 0923Naeem Khan RS18 0983NAEEM KHAN – WHAT THE HELL IS ON HER FACELa Petite Robe RS18 1968CHIARA BONI LA PETITEDe La Renta bks M RS18 0638OSCAR DE LA RENTAZimmermann RS18 0314ZIMMERMANNLanyu RS18 6495Lanyu RS18 6726Lanyu RS18 6906LANYURoland RS18 0066Roland RS18 0082Roland RS18 0168Roland RS18 0181PAMELLA ROLANDMurad HC RF17 0217Murad HC RF17 0241Murad HC RF17 0296Murad HC RF17 0420Murad HC RF17 0486ZUHAIR MURADMichael Costello RS18 0522MICHAEL COSTELLOMARCHESAMACDUGGAL

nyfw spring 2017 best details: makeup, accessories, hair and nails

They say the Devil is in the details, right?

I’m still not over this past fashion week and sharing my obsession with you. Here, I’ve picked my favorite details from the past NYFW for Spring 2017 including makeup looks, hair, nail art, jewelry, shoes and many, many other things. Even though I didn’t like most of the outfits that were shown during the past seven days, I should admit that I genuine liked most of the makeup trends: ‘no makeup’ looks with either bold lips or emphasized eyes – or none of it. Just the most natural and simple look that is (IMO) is the best look.

Best Looks of The SS’17 Collections at NYFW

While it has been a hectic week, it still was an amazing experience, covering the New York Fashion Week.Image result for nyfw spring 2017 marchesaMany of those I spoke with agreed that ready-to-wear fashion week is not what it used to be before and that NYFW, in particular, has lost the biggest part of its glamor and Fleur. Even I’ve noticed the difference: three years ago, when I was volunteering for one of the shows at Pier 59, there were no people in sneakers. This season, almost half of those people in front rows were wearing them (let’s be honest, nothing is fashionable about sneakers. Even if it’s Valentino). And, the tickets. OMG, do you remember times when fashion week was an industry only event? These times have passed, won’t be surprised if next year tickets will be available for all shows, not just a few of them. As someone said, “fashion week is like bad sex”: you spend three hours preparing for something that lasts about 7 minutes. And there are no gift bags anymore – or, which is worst, a bag with flat water and lipstick that makes you look like a corpse.

Anyways, we’re here to talk best looks – so here they go! In no particular order, here are my favorite pieces.Prabal Gurung (my favorite look – except the shoes- of the week. pastel and tenderness)Michael Costello (velvet, leather, sequins and black on black) btw, it’s my favorite model of the whole week)++all three by Marchesa (embroideries, sequins, flowers, pastel and tons of organza)Tadashi Shoji (feathers, lace and a bit of glitter)Jonathan Simkhai (not your ordinary wedding dress)Oscar de la Renta (perfect choice for you cotillion: white, golden and flowers)Fetherston RS17 0436Erin Fetherston (blush blush blush blush)Warm (jersey cotton, ankle length, and flowers)Zimmerman (boho style, plaids, crochet in a style I wore in 2004)Monique Lhuillier (the perfection of simplicity) Kate Spade (white, full coverage, lace, and bright bold flower print)Christian Siriano (torques, Capri and a perfect coat dress)Packham RS17 6478Jenny Packham (black, white and lace make a perfect romper)Packham RS17 6576Jenny Packham (the lady in red and ruffles)Diane von Furstenberg (color-blocked, silk and a very low cut)Victoria Beckham (velvety pajama party)Jonathan Simkhai (silk and flowers)++All three looks by Lela RoseMalan Breton RS17 8558Malan Breton (gold, sequins and another perfect coat dress)Hellessy RS17 7679Hallessy (silk and cotton for a perfect work outfit)Delpozo (the perfect wrap)
