my perfume collection: 2017 edition

I am a perfume addict❣ I love trying new scents and I really hope that one day I’ll fell in love completely with a nice perfume. I like many fragrances and I have a little collection, so I’ve decided to share it with you❣
Let’s start with the last two perfumes that I’ve discovered: Black Opium Pure Illusion and Black Opium Sparkle  💕They both are variations of original Black Opium with base notes of cedarwood, patchouli, vanilla and coffee ☕ I like them both, perfect for fall and (hopefully 😂) winter.

Mon Paris Eau de Parfum by YSL
Strawberry, Raspberry, Bergamot, Calone, Pear, Orange Flower, Jasmin Sambac, White Peony, Datura, Patchouli, White Musk, Ambrox, Cedarwood, Crystal Moss.
It’s passionate, sensual and sophisticated. To me, it smells more fruity than flowery but it’s very soft and will be great for middle of spring!

Aldehyde 44 Dallas by Le Labo
Notes: aldehydes, tuberose, jasmine, narcissus, woods, and musk.
It’s a unisex scent, very floral, woody and sparkly. I didn’t have enough time to test it but I’d say it requires specific style (monochrome and leather), but I’m gonna test it out more and update you guys on this!

Florabotanica by Balenciaga
Notes: Carnation, Wild Mint, Turkish Rose Essence, Hemp Leaves, Vetiver Roots, White Amber.
Beautiful. Dangerous. Rare.
I’m currently on my second bottle (which I have since summer 2013). I bought a 30ml bottle in spring 2013 because of Kristen Stewart ( the inspiration behind this scent), and I loved it so much that I’ve used it up in few weeks and bought a big one. And I hate it now (lol) But I’m trying to use it up, it’s good for May and June.

Tuberose by Roja Perfumes
Sweet – Fresh, Fruity, Soft, & Very Sensual
Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin, Petitgrain, Orange Blossom, Jasmin de Grasse, Tuberose, Cistus, Peach, Plum, Cinnamon, Vanilla, Musk.
I really like it but not for me:( it’s way too mature and heavy, and I don’t like how it works with my body chemistry. But it’s a really beautiful scent and I’m gonna keep it for now.

Chocolat Mat by Masaki Matsushima
I discovered this scent when I was a teen but only recently decided to actually buy it. It’s chocolaty but it’s pretty light, and it’s a great scent for when you’re feeling you wanna smell like a patisserie 🍫

Red Vanilla by Zara
Have no idea why I have this one but I’m using it in my closets.

La Mia Perla by La Perla
Notes: Mandarin, White Pepper, Sambac Jasmine, White Peony, Orris, Silky Suede Ambrox, Muscenone, and Sandalwood.
I don’t have an actual bottle but I have a mini travel version, and I think it’s a very nice and cute scent to wear on daily basis.

So guys, have you tried any of these scents? And what are some perfumes that you like?

Winter Favorites 2017

Better late than never, right? This winter brought many changes into my live, some of them quite dichotomic, so I’m a bit late with my winter favorites. However, I have a few things that I’ve been loving for the past three months and want to share my thoughts on them with you, guys.
For starters, I must admit that it’s hard for me to find a good skincare but this season I finally got lucky.
Pour Moi new climate control skincare line just saved my life. In New York, the heating season comes late, but it comes hard. Usually, I would wake up because my skin is super dry. I’ve been using serum paired with day/night cream, and my skin felt so good and hydrated.
Vichy Thermal Water is another life saver for me during the heating season – as well as hot summer days. I’m more of La Roche Posay fan, but this spray by Vichy got the job done.
Deep Steep Hand Cream in Frosted Plum has been keeping my hands soft and moisturized – and, it smells so freaking good, it’s too bad it was limited addition.
Since I’ve discovered Nexxus dry shampoo I’ve stopped the hunt but this December I tried Oscar Blandi dry shampoo, and it’s great – and doesn’t have such a strong scent as Nexxus.
BH Cosmetics is a brand I’ve honestly haven’t heard about before this January when I saw a Youtube video with a tutorial using their Gorgeous Greens eye palette. Must admit, not a big fan of glitters but the colors are gorgeous, and shadows are very pigmented and blend easily.
Stila Liquid Lipstick in Lume is a gorgeous berry shade – the only lipstick I’d wear this winter except my old time favorite Ciate London in Diva. It won’t survive a dinner, but it doesn’t dry out my lips, so I’m fine with re-applying it occasionally.
Dior Nude Air Foundation is probably the best foundation I’ve ever tried. It has such a perfectly natural finish – you only need to apply good moisturizer before. I’m in a shade 01 – the lights, but it’s still dark for me, so I mix it with the white foundation by NYX.
Won’t talk too much – Zoya nail polishes in shades Hannah and Janel are my all-time favorites, and I’ve been wearing them most of the time.
I didn’t wear this gorgeous pompom beanie by Club Monaco, but it’s so beautiful, and I’m so in love with it, so I had to show it to you guys.
This sweatshirt (HM) is actually 2 years old, and I’m wearing it only on Christmas and New Year – because why not. Isn’t this kitty adorable?
Roja Dove.. do I need to tell more? It’s a bit dark, a bit floral, a bit musky – I’m not in love, but I’m definitely intrigued.
008 Lait De Coco is the very delicate scent that you won’t smell unless you get very close – and that’s the point, right? It smells just like coconut water and is perfect for everyday wear.
I just couldn’t go without mentioning this adorable mug that I’ve bought at the local Walgreens. It’s so cute I just can’t!

5 best nail polishes for december

You guys know how I love the fall season and all things it brings. But December in New York still looks pretty much like autumn with some yellow and red leaves and still not that chilly air. Winter nail polishes are my favorite because there are so many options! For the month of December, I’ve picked a few super festive polishes that will bring you joy right away!

Tara by Zoyadsc_0003This is a rich neutral purple color that looks amazing in the winter time. This is a bold option for those who are risky enough to wear some black leather and studs – or, at least, a leather choker and stacked rings.

Finley by ZoyayferpnjnjicThis is one of my all time favorites. I’ve been wearing it for a couple of days now,  and must admit that the formula is just amazing: it doesn’t cheap off, it’s easy to apply, and the color is so beautiful everywhere I go people ask we what I’m wearing on my nails. Honestly, I think it’s a perfect nail polish for night outs and dancing, and the New Year’s Eve.

Midnight Affair (872) by Sally Hansen Salon ManicureI love Sally Hansen Salon Manicure formula, it’s easy to apply, and it stays forever on your nails, at least four days without chipping, and the brush is very thick and picks up the perfect amount of product. The navy blue is such a winter shade, and it’s super versatile so you can wear it to school, office, party or romantic dinner.

Janel by Zoyadsc_0027If you know me a bit, you know how I love red manicure. This warm red with wine undertones has made all the way from fall into winter because it’s so versatile and could be worn on any occasion as it’s not super bright.

Diva by Zoyadsc_0008Yet another red (surely, by Zoya). This one is perfect for any day of the week and every month of the year. It’s a classic blue red that suits any skin color and even though it’s so bright, it could be worn from morning to night.

october favorites: nail polish, makeup and more

It’s finally November, and it means two things: it’s just two months until Christmas – and it’s time to share my October favorites with you. Here in New York, it’s never fall in October. However, I try to make the best of it and find autumn spirit within myself.6i4dq2erpzo1. Zoya Nail Polishes Collection ‘Urban Grunge.’
I absolutely love this collection of 6 metallics and six pure shades that are perfect for the fall time. With different shades of wine, blue, green and nude, I felt that I didn’t need any other nail polishes as I could use these for any occasion.
2. Eyeshadow Palettes
Double Exposure by Smashbox: at first, I didn’t like it at all. Probably, it was because I’ve bought it in summer, and I never wear eyeshadows during hot months. But now, I’m falling in love with it more and more, I like that it’s tiny but has eight shades. The palette features three perfect shades of brown – and even one of them doesn’t have any shimmer to it. I would also recommend using a wet brush with these shadows.
Glo Minerals’ Elemental Eye Collection features eight shades, four matte and four have shimmer, all of them are wearable, and you can create perfect daytime smokey eyes – or nighttime if you like.
3. Argan Enlightenment Illuminating Wand and Veil by Josie Maran
When I got it last year, I didn’t like it at all as it was more a bronzing shade than a highlighter, but now I’m more tanned, and I love using it to highlight my face when I want something warm and nothing too strong. I usually use Veil as a base eye shadow, and Stick to illuminate my chick bones.
4. Liquid Lipstick by Ciate
I loved the shade called Pin Up. This mauve shade reminds me a lot of Kat Von D’s Lolita, except it has more of a cold undertone. I love Ciate’s formula; it doesn’t dry out my lips though it won’t survive food.
5. Perfumes
Florabotanica by Balenciaga was a weird choice for October as it’s very grassy, cold and fresh, but it was fun wearing it.
Narciso Rodrigues’ For Her and Dolce&Gabanna’s Pour Femme (haha, it’s a coincidence) are two perfectly autumnal scents that are warm, sharp and a bit spicy.

summer makeup and skincare favorites

So, it’s finally the end of August which means that the summer is almost over (even tho in NYC September is still summer) and it’s time to share with you the makeup and skincare products that I was using during this summer 2016. Don’t forget to click the links for more photos, ingredients, and reviews.

IMG_6076When it comes to makeup I usually go pretty basic especially during the summertime when it’s hot and your skin is already under pressure and damaged by sun radiation and pollution.

Primer: STILA One Step Correct I absolutely love using this serum as a primer to even my skin tone. 3 colors swirled together to improve skin tone and even out complexion and reduce the redness and under eye dark circles. When I have a good skin day I would just wear this primer and no foundation at all.

Foundation: URBAN DECAY Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup in shade 2.0 which is not my perfect match but 2.5 is too dark and 1.5 is too pink-ish and cool for my somewhat olive undertones. But I like the formula during summer time as it has a little bit powdery finish which is great for this time of the year when you have no need in your Tatcha Dewy Mist as your face is already pretty dewy (in best case scenario). Also, I like that UD has so many different shades.

Bronzer/contour: JOSIE MARAN Argan Enlightenment Illuminizing Veil While it’s actually a highlighting powder it’s too dark on my skin tom highlight with it so I apply a tiny bit to my cheekbones to create a nice warm shade. I also apply it on temples to give some dimension to my face.

Eyeshadow: L’Oréal® Paris Colour Riche La Palette – Nude 2 I go very basic with my eye makeup all year round, but during the summer especially so I just apply shade #10 all over the crease and add a bit of colour with shade #2 and blend them together. I love this palette as it has all the nudes that are perfect for many skin tones and you can create both day and evening look using just this 10 shades.

Eyeliner: Wet n Wild MegaLiner Liquid Eyeliner – Black It’s super cheap and yet it’s a great liquid eyeliner to draw a basic line or to apply to your water line as it dries pretty fast. It’s not something you would use for a special occasion look but it’s fine for everyday summer makeup.

Mascara: Maybelline® Lash Sensational™ Luscious Mascara in colour 701 Blackest Black. I hate this mascara starting with the silicon brush and ending with the formula but I’ve thrown away 4 or 5 mascaras this May so I’ve decided to just use it until it will dry out (btw, I feel that it will be very soon already). I personally hate silicon brushes and wet formulas as I hate waiting until it dries. And, I would not recommend applying more than 1 coat or you’ll end up with just 3 big and clumpy lashes.

Lipstick: BOBBI BROWN Creamy Lip Color in Honeysuckle. This shade has been discontinued but it’s perfect for summertime and days when you’re not wearing any eyeshadows (I found it difficult to find incorporate this lip color to any eyeshadow combination). The creamy formula of the lipstick is a bit sticky but it has Shea butter and softens and smoothes lips amazing.

Lip pencil: NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dolce Vita. It’s not matte and it’s not very pigmented what makes it perfect for a casual daytime look. It’s buildable so it can be transformed into darker and bolder shade and with a bit of translucent powder it can be made matte. It doesn’t dry out lips, which is good, but it won’t survive even a glass of wine which is not so good.

Setting powder (not pictured): LAURA MERCIER Translucent Loose Setting Powder It’s not in photo as I’ve smashed it right before and now it’s ruined and I need to go to Sephora to buy myself a new one. Can I just that this powder saved my makeup from sweating away from my face? I love the formula, I love that you need just a tiny amount of it and that it actually doesn’t give your skin that powdery look that other setting powders can create.

IMG_6077During the summertime, I tend to use as less skincare as I possibly can. Usually, I survive on SPF50 and bottles of thermal water. But these little cuties have also been a part of my everyday routine so I couldn’t not to mention them.

Body: VIRGIN MOJITO BODY SORBET I like that it’s a sorbet so it’s not as thick and creamy as lotion and yet it hydrates and moisturizes skin. It absorbs fast and smells like a mojito and is perfect for hot weather as it doesn’t leave this greasy sense on your skin.

Feet:True Blue Spa Cracked Heel Treatment It’s very thick and reach and love using it after taking a shower as my feet always feel dry after being in water or when I wear shoes without socks. This cream helps a lot to smooth and moisturize feet. I haven’t noticed any difference in terms of MAKING heels softer but it definitly prevents your feet from drying.

Face: ORIGINS Drink Up™ Intensive Overnight Mask It’s a leave-in facial mask that I apply every night after cleansing my face. In the morning skin is oily but it feels great, very soft. I love it because it’s actually a hydrating mask (not moisturizing) and my skin’s water balance doesn’t really exist so I really need extra hydration and for some reason, it’s very hard to find a product that not just moisturises but also hydrates your skin.

Eyes:Plantscription™ SPF 25 Power Anti-Aging Cream It’s a hydrating moisturizer that works for any skin type, can be used AM and PM and gives your undereye area UVA / UVB protection. I would recommend it to anyone who’s after 20 and wants to prolong the eye area youthfulness. It gives a little bit weird feeling to the skin when it’s working but nothing that you can’t stand for a few moments.

organic skincare review – apoterra

Recently, I got my hands on this two products by Apoterra Skincare: Night Clarifying Treatment with Chamomile + Sea Buckthorn and Tulsi Luminous Scrub with Lavender + Pink Sea Salt. Now it’s time to share my thoughts on it. First, I got to say that my skin is extremely picky and there are so many great products that I just cannot use because they give me harsh breakouts. My skin is normal to oily (T-zone) but a couple of years ago I’ve noticed that it becomes dehydrated very easy and doesn’t stay balanced. That was one of the reasons why I’ve decided to try Night Treatment as it promises to sooth the irritations and to heal blemishes as well as to promote hydration and increase skin’s elasticity. Pros: skin feels great, very hydrated and soft. Cons: I hate the smell of chamomile and it gave be breakouts the first night I’ve used it. I kept on using it for next few days but the breakouts are still here. The overall elasticity has improved withing these days and in the morning my skin feels smoother, so I definitely recommend it to all of you who are 20-something and already started noticing the first signs of it.The pink salt scrub was a very interesting experience: usually, I use very soft scrubs and body polishes so it was definitely something new. Because of shea butter and oils in its ingredients, it feels a little greasy on the skin but it all worth it as it exfoliates great and leaves skin so soft and moisturized that I felt no need in body lotion after the shower. I didn’t like the smell while using the product, but afterward I’ve noticed that I felt more relaxed than usually, I guess, it’s because of the lavender. Btw, I’m getting used to the smell, and even find it interesting as it’s all natural and I like that I smell the actual ingredients instead of artificial perfume. I think organic products are something you need to adjust to after using non-organic ones, so you need to give your skin time to adapt to these new feelings so you can fully experience the product. As for me, I will definitely try more of the Apoterra products in future.
